The Natural Tone-Scale

Workshop Description:

As far as we know, as long as mankind has existed, music has been played.  This music has gone through constant development in many fields.  New instruments have been developed, new rhythms have been developed and new tones have been played. The musical development and the cultural development have been going hand in hand through history, and they have quite accurately followed the positions of the stars, as well.  Each high culture has always had its own tone-scale and its own star sign, as it has had its own religion, science and so on.

In our present age we are utilizing tone-scales from ancient Greece.  But wait, we’re not living in ancient Greece high culture and we don't share their religion or most of their science either!  If you’re thinking that, it’s true; the tone-scales are a leftover from a passed time.

How has music developed through history?  And more importantly how can music develop in the future?   It must develop in some way if it is to keep track with the star signs.

These are the main questions we will be exploring in this one day workshop.
